KARATE FOR MIND,
BODY & SPIRIT
A superior program of aerobic exercise, self-defense, and traditional
martial arts discipline, KENSHIKAI
KARATE is designed for men and women of all ages. A traditional
form of karate, Kenshikai is derived from the Japanese martial arts,
Kyokushinkai and Seido karate. Vanderbilt YMCA's chief instructor
is Shihan Leighton Barker, a 6th degree Black Belt, who studied
under Seido Karate Grandmaster Tadashi Nakamura for over 25 years.
KENSHIKAI KARATE provides a complete program in physical conditioning.
Our exercises are safe, effective and tailored to individual needs.
Kenshikai Karate develops flexibility, coordination, power, stamina
and builds strength in virtually every muscle group in the body.
Our goal is that each day when you leave class, you are a little
better mentally and physically than when you came. We provide you
with the program, supervision, and environment that will allow you
to realize your full potential. |
